Set deep in the woods, smartDESIGN created a black metal-clad contemporary home for a progressive farmer. The simple lines and unadorned facades celebrate the surrounding landscape during all seasons. The interior of the house offers a complementary simplicity with an open plan, exposed structure, and generous amounts of glass for abundant sunlight and views to the woods just beyond the walls. Several repurposed elements are integrated into the interior, including sliding industrial doors and salvaged school lockers serving as a hall closet.
